SRX 700 SX 700 bottom end itnerchangeability

Can anyone tell me if i can put a 98 SRX 700 top end on a 97(redhead)SX 700 bottom end(cases,crank,rods).I broke a rod in the SRX i have a fresh SX 700(non power valve,single pipe).I thought the SRX had bigger crank bearings.Thanks Pat PS This forum rocks very helpful
