780 Kit??

I don't own a 780 kit but did some research about them last week because I was thinking about buying one from a member. The kit was by MrViper from this form. I found that his motors make good power and very reliable. His standard kit is 165hp and race port around 170hp. He said kit is very reliable as long as you warm the motor good before taking off. The skirt of the cylinder is very thin after the BB and if you take off too quick the piston will expand before the cyl and break the skirt.
The sled we were looking at had less compression and different squish for NO2 but the the owner never put NO2 on it. He run it in a 1000ft last year at 110mph. He changed the heads this year to normal comp for a 780. Expected to pick up 2-3 mph more in a 1000 ft. That is a fast sled, I would think a big difference over stock. Mrviper said his port job on a stock bore SRX will make 160hp, something to think about.

Yes, best year we have had in a long time. I went out tonight after work and put on some quick miles and busted some drifts. Love to ride!
My friend is getting his 2000 SRX tomorrow at about noon. We are booth pretty excited. Should get some riding in over the Holidays.
