I have oval raced an Exciter for a few years, and can tell you that "pipes" and "porting" will get you nowhere. put a polaris p85 or a comet 102 on it, and pm me for a set up, you WILL beat all the "piped and ported" exciters out there.

Hello
you have pm

OK AS FAR AS THE SS440 IT SHOULD ACTUALLY BE FASTER ENGINE BUT HIGHER AND WIDER the ss440 is the same block and crank as the 540 is . so cylinders can be swapped in
ook the ex et 440 uses a 2 row petalreed cage same as the yamaha dt-2 dt-3 enduro bike sam as the blaster it200 , yz80 125 to name a few
almost all other big machines and some 175 use a larger reed cage with 3 rows of reeds some use 4 small ones like the 440ss and dt 250 400 77 to 79
carb size is diff
but bolt patterns to the carb flange boot is the same 4 bolt pattern on alot of machines here are a few that i know of
yammy dt-2 dt-3 mx250 509 and later 75 and later
75 and later mx 400 #510 it400 yz 400 76 to 79 it 425 1980 it yz 250 75 to 80 dt 250 77 and later.the ss440 and early 540 kawasaki pwc reed cage is same on 650 twin and 300 single kx 250 to kx400 450 etc 77 later to 8???? cagiva 125 85 to 90 and husky 125 unshure about the 250

now what pattern is the phazer boots? and reed cages are they the same as the large srv 540 ??
the srv 540 used 2 sets small and large the larger ones used a 4 bolt pattern used on ya dirtbikes such as the itand yz465 490 to 83yz 84 it490 and it 250 4v5 and later 81 up yz250 then it switched to the 6 bolt reed cage then the 250 was back usuing the same 4 bolt setup in 89 to ninetywhat?
i am shure that 6 bolt reed cage from the yz490 40t and later showed up on a vmax or srx some where????

i know i am a :postwhore
but cant help it
thanxz laterz amc

still cant help being a postwore
but you said the bottom end went south , well you should be able to find a bottom end from an old et ex 300t 340t and use that and slap yer cylinders right on em..
thanxz

Shrader, you have a PM...

the exciter motors respond well to engine work but there are limits with the stock pipe i can gain a honest 12 hp out of these motors with my porting specs(there is a lot more i can get out of them just need more time) we do run the stock primary which works great but the spring and weight combo is really hard to find a polaris or comet primary will work out better (easier to set up) a 40mm mukuni round slide is all they need and real easy to dial in and way better than the kehin round or butterfly carbs with awsome throttle response ............the phazer boots will bolt on with slight mods to the mounting holes and triming the stuffer off of them as far as the SS440 motors go they will walk a exciter all day and respond real well to porting to this day our SS440's beat our exciters the longer stroke of the SS helps to make a butt load of torque down low and they like to be loaded hard in the clutching department more so than the EX motors and they like to be loaded well too but once the porting comes into play the ex motors loose a little of the low end grunt either way they both fly stock or in mod form I trail ride a bone stock 76 EX 440 with the stock puck clutch thing runs out great 42 studs and 6 inch race carbides up front plus a custom built coil over fox rear shock and it rides great

what is the record on snow with the 433?
our record is 6.63 seconds 127.9km / h (150meter) in Sweden
