I have a stock track with 144 studs now but I somehow ripped it last night. I have to replace it and I am not going to run studs anymore. So my question is what track would be better for me, I run on trails and some powder in midwestern wisconsin and the u.p but try to stay out of it cuz the srx is a tank. The tracks I am looking at are the Cobra, Ripsaw 1 1/4 full clipped, or the Predator 1 1/4 fully clipped. By the way...beat a F7 last night too.

IF your studs were on the outer portions of the track, its not very hard for them to rip out.....
I have the ripsaw 1.25 on mine works awesome... I have the predator 1 inch on my 600, and just not up to snuff in my opinion.. It is 1/4 in shorter but I will replace it with a ripsaw when its time. I also have good succes with a cobra track...
I upgraded from the predator to the cobra. World of difference. Hooks up like a s.o.b.

How is your Cobra on top end, does is slow ya down?
I installed a 1.352" fully clipped cobra on my 2002 Viper last week. I have since put 100 miles on the track and it is amazing. It hooks up hard and is night and day over the stock track. I haven't had it on the lake for a high speed run yet. Stock drivers, left the protectors installed, stock gearing, stock clutching. I can actually lift the front up as much as I want now in loose snow. Sled seems to trench quite a lot with the larger lug, but the arm pull now is incredible.

I have to disagree. I have always run them in the outside and no tearouts and no damage to track. But I do run 192 in a srx. Less stress on each stud.

I know of guys that run studs in the outside belt and never had a problem. But they seem to be the type that is very careful of where they rip the track. Never in low snow conditions, nor do they run in grass. I think the guys that are not so careful and like to stand the sled up on the tail of the track are the ones that suffer track damage.
I have heard good things about the Cobra, I think it will be my next track.
