This sled has great spark (blue) and I checked to see if the fuel pump was good and it checked out also. I only get the sled to run if I put fuel down the cylinders then it starves and dies. Any Ideas besides buying a 4 stroke? Cleaned carbs last year before I put it away and It ran fine. Filled up the fuel tank and fogged. Any input is good I am sick of taking the plugs out and dumping gas in it hoping it runs. Thanks for the help-Ryan
did you clean carbs this season ...my guess is they are dirty ...and the fogging oil doesnt help ...also make sure you dont have a cracked line for the pulse side of the pump ...look an see if the lines have fuel in them...and make sure that the fuel is turned on ...some of these have a fuel petcock installed up by the air box
sounds like the floats are stuck

I am going out to the garage shortly to clean carbs. Will keep you posted.
Any chance you pinched the fuel line from the tank to the pump?
I did that once and had the very same problem.

I think the lines are good. When I checked the fuel pump I had gas gushing out of the 3 hoses going to the carbs. NOW THAT THE D@MN SNOW IS ALMOST ALL MELTED IT WILL PROBABLY DECIDE TO RUN!

They were excellent condition and FAST. Rode freinds sled. Foggy as heck now. Hopefully the weatherman is on and we get more this week though I have to get up to Mishicot by trail yet this year to visit a friend just north of town.

Floats are stuck shut. You guys have a high parrofin content in your fuel or something like that back there. Had that problem with fuel in a couple of sleds from that area. Pull carbs, than bowls and spray carb clean through the fuel inlets, repeat as ness then replace and ride. Yahoo. Got another 3 ft back here. Time to ride
Having the same problem with a 97SX 700, but haven't check fuel pump yet. What is the best procedure to test fuel pump? Is it worth it to put a repair kit in a pump or just replace it? I would seem unusual to have all 3 floats stick at the same time, but it could happen. I have tried about 10 times starting with fuel placed in spark plug holes. Fires up and then dies each time. Starving for fuel. I am going to pull air box and check fuel pump by pulling lines and pulling rope starter. How much fuel should it spit? Is that the best way to check? If you pull your carbs, you might want to check the reed petals while it's open. Have a 05 Viper that wouldn't hold RPM's. Mag side cylinder plug was lean. We fought with it thinking carb problem (cleaned twice) only to find a chip out of one the reeds on that cylinder. Had brain fart and didn't check others. Later found a wear spot on reed in middle cylinder. Would have saved a great deal of time and a lot less headaches, had we looked at reeds when carbs were 1st taken out. Don't think it is as common on the Red Heads, but you can bet I'll be checking them next time I clean carbs. Let us know what you find redrider. I'll try to do the same.

I cleaned my carbs with an ultrasonic cleaner at work and put them back in after drying it out and started up with 2 capfulls of gas down the cylinders. Fired right up. Didnt have to take the carbs apart at all with this cleaner. Uses water and sound waves. It even made the gas lines on the carbs look new. SLED RUNS GREAT! Thanks guys- Ryan
