secondary problems (going crazy)

i just bought an new belt baecause i thought i fried my old one but this wasn't the case.... every time i get the primary to kick in it pulls the belt down but it still feel like it has good resistance when i push back on it i also put her in the air spun the track. cause i thought maybe i had something stuck or the new gear case i put in was wrong but luckly no funny noise or stiff spots in pulling the track secondary spun fine... i lsearch all over on here for help my findings were bushings or bearing b4 i start takeing stuff apart i have no clue about warning and caution faster or easier ways? thanx to all TY rocks by the way learned alot from here...

It sounds like u might have a bad spring in your secondary. Did u have the clutch apart? That is what will happen if the spring is not wraped tight enough. Could also be a worn bushing that is causing the clutch to bind. Try spraying some dry graphite lube on the moving parts, this may help to diagnose the problem but not cure it.

i have never pulled it a part ill try the spray but if its still warm like it is might as well pull it apart im guessing its a spring cause i did cange the primary ill try to find the two that match i just have never took one apart and i was wonderin if theres a special way of removing amd putting bac together so i dont have to do it over and over

When u look at the helix on u'r secondary clutch u will see on the helix, holes with no. at them. The stock setting on the sx 700 is 60 degrees. The no. on the helix r 3,6,&9 use the 3. The no. on the clutch sheeve r 1,2&3 use 3 to give u a total of 6 or 60 degrees. When u disassemble the clutch becareful as it is under spring tension. Hold down on the helix and remove the bolts, slowly let up on the helix. It is under a twisting force against the ramps on the helix. U will see when u take out the spring that the holes r numbered on the clutch sheeve. When reassembling makesure to twist the helix and then push it down and line up the bolt holes. I have attached a pic to indicate where the no.'s r. U could try tightening up the secondary spring to see if that helps diagnose u'r problem, if the spring is weak. Set it on 3 on the secondary sheeve and 6 on the helix. U can see in the pic that my spring is set on 6 but that is to compensate for the after market helix and the long track.
