Went to take of my secondary tonight and noticed that there is some back and forth play on the shaft. Is this normal or should it be tight?

are you talking the side play back and forth, parallel to the jackshaft? if so, its normal to have .060"-.080" of side to side play. this is for "floating" the secondary.

Yes that it... wasn't sure if that was normal. Thanks Man!!!
Just want to put my stock helix back on for the weekend.

Never cared for the rattling, I mean floating secondary. I run them tight. But I do use a belt deflection adjuster on all my sleds.

DangerDog,
Do you notice any improvement running the secondary in a fixed position rather than floating....cooler clutch temps., better upshift/backshift? I have one of those belt deflection adjusters, I think it is from Mountain Perf., it requires a fixed secondary. As long as the clutches are aligned properly, I can't see any harm in running the secondary in a fixed position. Thanks!!!

As long as they are aligned right. I like to know the alignment is correct all of the time. And it is easier to keep deflection adjusted, no taking clutch apart all of the time. As far as clutch temps I don't know if there is a difference because I have never run a floating secondary. But I can tell you mine are nice and cool.
