My sled like fuel more than your's...

Seem to be a carb or fuel pump issue...

I will check to remove the engine from the sled tomorrow but i hate to spend time in my sled fixing something that should normally not arrive. Too much time spend in this machine and i'm now thinking buyind a new Nytro.
 
I'm just a novice at this but, doesn't the manual say something about the possibility of this happening if you trailer over longer distances, with too much gas in the tank? Like more than 1/3 or 1/2 full?
 
i have seen this more than once on different brands.does it fill up with gas just sitting there? & did you find out by trying to pull it over? a phazer i had filled up like that & when i pulled it over i thoghut i broke my wrist.it was a bad pump allowing fuel into the base...another time on my fathers formula 3.his g/f's son tryed to pull it over & it actually had so much pressure in it from the gas it bent 1 rod.that also was the fuel pump but that was an exspensive fix....so i would deffinitly start by getting or rebuilding that pump before any damage occurs.
 
Yeah, since last week my engine was sometime not reving the good rpm and it feel like if I grip a piston. So Saturday morning I decided to start my engine to check compression, because what I remember is that the center plus was not chocolate brown like the two others. When I try to pull on the rope for the first time, I thinked my engine is seized. But when I get out the plugs, and I retried to pull on the rope again, then alot of gazoline sprayed from all the cylinders and I saw there was a big puddle of fuel under my sled...

Do you think I'm better to get my engine out of the sled to check everything or just trying to siphoning the crankcase could be alright? What do you think experts???
I know it's a great time to check bearings and change the rings.
 
personally i would just change the pump & leave it the way it is & tip it on it's side.it will make a mess but thats the easiest way.flip it back upright & wipe everything down real good.

I agree. If the only thing wrong now is the pump fix it and be done with it. Go ride! I tend to torment myself with stuff like this but you should fix it and enjoy the winter.
 
or you could put some rags,towels or whatever in the intake part of the clyinders & then tip it on it's side.that way most of it will be soaked up with the cloth & not make as big of a mess.
 
Finally, I changed the needle valves because they were leaking... Now the sled ran great when on the trails, but it backfire a little through the exhaust every 2-3 second when at idle. Don't know where it came from, the engine run very smooth and get the rpm when I want. I will check the compression and give you some news.
 
Check my compression 5 min ago, 0 psi in center cylinder and 115 on the pto and mag cylinders. I'm thinking of a Bender big bore or just rebuilt it when I will have the time.
