Fuel flow issue

Just finished new top end. Fuel is not flowing to the fuel pump. No lines are pinched. Thinking something may be clogged in the fuel pick up line in the tank. Can I blow some low pressure compressed air back thru the fitting on the tank or will that mess something up? How can I get the pick up line...take off that fitting on the tank above the fuel pump? I had no issues with the fuel pump ever. It will start with a few cc's of gas placed in each cyclinder, but won't draw fuel into the pump.

I've posted the same response several times for similar problems...
For the last two years I've drained my tank and run my Viper dry at the end of the season. Each winter I go to start it up and it takes me a good half day to get it going. I pour pre-mixed gas down the jugs about 5-7 times before the sled stayed running... It takes a LONG time to get the pump to prime. I will NEVER let my sled run dry again, as this is a PITA to do every year.
Keep trying the fuel down the jugs... it WILL fire and stay started after a bunch of tries.

I did the same thing...you think that's it? Seems like it should of fired by now.

Did some thread searching & it seems like what ^^^ said is the case. Question: Is it ok to continuously put premix in the cylinders (some guys did up to 15 times)? I never unhooked the oil line so there should be no reason to prime it. When it runs for the 5 or so seconds each time is the crank getting oil? I realize the cylinders should be fine, but doesn't the crank get oiled separately? Don't want to mess up.

yes perfectly fine using pre mix,,the cyl's getting lube..that little bit of run time your crank will be fine it's not like it's running for 5 mins with no oil...

Fro, near the end I almost gave up... I was going to bring the sled in the see what was up, but finally it fired up and stayed running. If those carbs are dry, I guess it takes quite a bit of fuel from the pump to stay running.
The first year I just used raw gasoline... others on here said to pre-mix. I just put a cup or so of gas in a milk pitcher, added a table spoon of Amsoil, and kept tring!
Good luck.

I did it 21 times & said F-it for tonight. I'm using a "Mr Mixer" 2 stroke syringe & adding a little squirt to each cylinder. It fires right up each time for 3-5 seconds then dies...21 times in a row. It now has fuel in the line from the tank to the fuel pump. I'm just tired & pissed off & needed to walk away. All connections are fine & the pulse hose is attached firmly. I do have the airbox off now so I can check the lines for fuel easily. I know not to run it long with it off when/IF it ever fires.

My New Years resolution is to NOT drain the tank empty ever again.

you may have a problem, that's just to many times it should have took way
before that, try this put mix down the holes have the pulse line off the pump
and with a buddy's help have him start the sled and hold your thumb over the pulse line see if it's pulsing..post back.

Just take off the belt and plugs and spin the primary back and forth 180 degrees for a few minutes. It's will completely prime your engine, and it will even mix the gas and oil as it primes. Works every time the first time. You'll smell the gas coming out of the plug holes really strong once it is primed.

This also works after the carbs have been drained. Do it for two minutes and I guarantee a first-pull start (assuming that 1 pull is normal for you).

This I have never heard... It would be amazing if it worked! If I ever run out of gas, I'll try this... or maybe I'll try it after the sled has been sitting for a few weeks. :)
