I am going to try it in my SRX this year, every year I try a new oil. I ran Ipone all last year, I was a little disappointed with the amount of carbon build up on my valves, didn't do as well as the intercepter. I did get alot of compliments on the strawberry smell though! Rated first to last Intercepter, Ipone, Torco full syn, Reg Amsoil, Yamilube. My oil pump setting is stock and we ride faily hard, I don't suspect I get much granny carbon. I am sure I could get better results if I leaned out my pump, but I would rather scrape carbon than tear down my motor.

I have had many polaris ves motors and they run the cleanest mixing ves and reg polaris oil 50/50SRX M10 said:I am going to try it in my SRX this year, every year I try a new oil. I ran the Gold VES oil for a few years in my ported srx7, valves were easy to clean but it started to get expensive. I switched to Shell Snow Altra, been running it the last 3-4 years.

I used to run VES Gold in my xc600sp 600 VES. I had more powervalve gumming up issues with that compared to the amsoil full synth. My recommendation, run amsoil. Even the finicky 2000 600 ves I have has had no valve gumming issues even with the oil pump on my 2000. All 2000 600 VES's had a higher volume oil pump to make sure there were fewer if no engine breakdowns due to not enough oil. In 01 polaris switched to a pump that puts out less oil. So maybe the polaris gold will work great if the oil pump is dialed in, but for me, the amsoil is less money, and works better.

What Amsoil do you use? Interceptor, I used to use the older Amsoil (before the series 2000) and had to clean my valves every 5-600 miles. I haven't used the Interceptor, but I have heard good reports about it.

I had a friend who used yamilube in his Viper when I first tried the Interceptor. At preseason service I pulled my valves and could have almost wiped them off with some carb cleaner and a rag. We couldn't get the valves out of his Viper, had to put the manifold and exaust back on so he could start it and warm it up first. Then I still had to wrestle with them for half an hour just to get them out. After an hour of scraping, he no longer believes all oils are the same.

So does anyone know who makes Polaris VES gold?

Klotz and nothing else ive had great results with this oil plus it has that racing odor, when the cats and the skidoos are behind you they wont get tiered smelling your exhaust.

I used the old full synth, and now interceptor.
I will look at a bottle of the gold VES this weekend to see if it hints at all who made it.

I have had the opposite effect with interceptor. My Dad and a buddy with a SRX still run Yamalube and have had really clean valves. Mine were stuck so bad I couldn't hardly get them out. I switched back to Yamalube this year mainly because it was cheaper and I didn't see any better results from the interceptor oil. The one thing that bugs me about the Amsoil Interceptor is the viscosity. It sure pours slow compared to the Yamalube. It makes you wonder how it flows from the pump on really cold days. When I re-ringed my Viper this fall my old rings did not look very good. Part of it was probably from some of the carbon build up in the ring lands. I don't ride this thing like a granny either.

i always tryed to use klotz when available when i had my 2storke.but if i couldnt get it i wouls go to yamalube. i hated amsoil but i have only used the original. i was already switched before interceter.after that i had 4 stroke sleds but in the 2 race sleds i switched from klotz r-50 to legend oil zx-2 racing oil & i really liked that. so if i bought another trail sled i would like to try the legend oil that's not for the race engines...just wanted to give a opinion on a oil that hasnt been mentioned yet..maybe you would like to give that a shot?

Sorry SRX 10 we did not answer your question, I doubt if it will say on the bottle but I could be wrong. Try phoning a Polaris dealer, hopefully they know.

A Google search turned up this comment on another snowmobile forum:
"Polaris VES Gold is made by a company called, "Lubricant Technologies" out of Minnesota."

run Yamaha ring free in your gas and the valves will be cleaner

I just finished my preseason service on my sled tonight, topped off my oil tank with the VES gold, it is almost clear and pours like water! I also looked on the jug for a brand. Thanks my700sxr for the info.
I rebuilt my primary, new shaper bars, new hyfax, cleaned carbs, greased it, changed chaincase oil, cleaned valves and set them. A few laps around our field with -5 deg temps, the ol' girl just wants to go go go! This is my second SRX, eight years on them total and that motor still makes me grin. Best tripple ever!
