is it normal for 98 VMAX 600XT to engage at 4200rpm?? or is this high.

weak/worn out springs give early engagement and lower max rpms, not higher. yamahas tolerance on engagement, is usually + or - 200 rpms, and they say 4000 engagement on your machine, so you would be within tolerance. is your clutching stock? what color primary spring are you running?

Some clutch it to engage that high so that may be your case.
