I know that between different manufacturers of helixs, you can get varying aggressiveness for the same "degree" helix. What I'm looking for is what other brands of helix's are similar to a Bender 51/43? I tested one off of a buddies sled this weekend and it's exactly what I need. I can get hold of a couple different brands from a local guy that are 51/43 (of course he doesn't have a bender). I just don't want to buy one to find out it's more/less aggressive. Thanks for the help, Drew.

I use a bender 9870..............51/43 i think
and a advatage 48/40 both are really close, the adv up shifts faster while the bender is smooth thru the intire shift.

That's what I noticed with the Bender, it was really smooth. I'm running an AAEN 52/45 teflon coated helix now, but I'm having the problem of dropping 200 RPM's on the topend when I go from O-100.

Funds ran dry quick this year with a new track and new bearings, so I'm trying to find the right helix without spending too much $$$$. Which I know is impossible with sleds. LOL.

I have not tryed a 51/43 from a rx1 but that could work.

That helix will act like a 48/40 or something really close to it. it's not very aggressive at all.

That was Turks recommendation back in the day that we would use,so i would say yea it works great..

VenomMod just find a 51/43 from a RX-1 shorty,Attak,Apex,warrior and run it.

You know venom you got me thinking.

A new track will take some rpm away.More traction and not being broke in yet.
200 rpm is not alot maybie you could adjust your secondary alittle tighter.

I might have to give it a try (Rx1 helix). I'm not sure I should wind me helix any tighter. Now that you mentioned a new track, it's been a lot nicer clutching a sled that I can grab traction with. That new Cobra track is wicked (Thanks Bruce from CB Performance).

Here's my current set up (mind you, broke college student so using what I have):

GGG primary, 8dg loaded to equal 42.29g (hauck tuning weights, loaded only in tip), AAEN 52/45 helix, Hauck Green Sec Spring, wound to 6&3. Engages at 4500 RPM.

Right now it'll run straight to 9 grand then around 73 mph it'll drop to 8700-8800 and hold. The belt rides a little over a half inch from the top of the primary. There's a slight bog at the beginning of the stand still run. I have a Hauck T helix (don't know the angle), Hauck W (56/50), and a ywy primary spring, and 8ab weights. I've got a set up for the 8ab's but not real fond of how they run. I was thinking of possibly trying the ywy with my current setup (most likely will have to add weight). Or trying to drop my top gear one tooth to get the belt to ride higher first then try the new spring. I know I should get my engagement down also. Even with it engaging a bit high, I still can grab traction thanks to the new track.

I've learned a lot from clutching on my own, but it's hard when you can't afford all that you should need. Thanks for the input.

venom-mod, if you change to a y/w/y spring, you will lose top end rpms. the finish of the y/w/y spring is less than your g/g/g spring....128kg versus 131kg. your secondary is currently wrapped @ 90deg? green spring? turk told me the 51/43 rx-1 helix, shifted like a 48/42. maybe try the rx-1 helix? you should be able to find one in the classifieds section for cheap. i'll keep my eye open.

If I knew what that Hauck T helix was I'd give it a try. I've probably been misinterpreting the numbers on the primary springs. I've always been a little confused.
