do my sleds need stator

I just bought a 2002 sx viper ER 5800 miles and every time i start it evan when warm i have to give it gas in order to get it to stay running I also have to do this on my 2001 sxr 6000 miles. also i was wondering if both theses sleds can get the under motor wire rub through abd is thie ra how to on how to fix it and take it all apart.

is your idle set to low? it sounds nothing like a electrical problem..or some body screwed your carbs up..sounds like a fuel problem to me????????????
 
Ya I agree....idle and throttle cable may need to be adjusted or maybe the choke cable is too tight and the choke is stuck on a bit.
