I've got two '98 VMax XTC's, a 500 and a 700. The 700 definitely needs a new track as I'm missing quite a few lugs. I thought I read on here a while back that I could go up to a 1 1/4" lugs? Also, would any 121" track fit on my machine? I have a friend who said he may be able to get me a take off from a Polaris.
Thanks!

mike yes any 121" track will work.you can use the 1.25" but no studs unless you put smaller drive sprockets in.

Anyone have any suggestions for a good place to find a new-ish track? I'm in MN, I'm guessing shipping might be a little expensive so if there were somewhere around here, that'd probably help cost-wise!
Thanks!

Rich has great deals on shipped tracks, otherwise look on craiglist, here on the site or maybe even John Dee.....

Thanks for the responses guys! One other question, some of the tracks are clipped every 3 windows, and some are fully clipped? What's the difference? The stock track has clips on every window, why wouldn't you want that?
Thanks!

Anyone have any thoughts on why they only clip every 3rd window??? Pros/Cons to this versus fully clipped?

You can run a 1.25" with stock wheels and leave the tunnel protectors in if you want to notch the lugs over the windows. I have a 1.25" predator on my 98 Vmax sx with 144 studs, it's worn out now, I'm going to replace it with the same set up. But I'm going to only put 96 studs on it. Also fewer clips less weight, might ratchet more with studs, every third window closed, supposed to keep more snow in track to lube the slides.
