just for correction...not a air screw...its a fuel screw....it monitors how much fuel flows into the carb venturi, from the pilot jet/circuit. for your sled, factory spec is 1-7/8 turns, but you could go out to 2 turns if you wanted. both turn specs i gave, are from lightly seated/closed.
side ? for you....where did you send that viper crank? just curious. how much was the estimate?

i sent the crank to a place here in newfoundland and they told me around $450 or more for a complete rebuild on my crank. so can i go 2 turns out on my carbs instead of 1 7/8? would it make her run leaner? what happens if my air screw would be in or out more then stock settings?

also is the fuel screw the only one i have to adjust or is there another one?

remember, its a fuel screw, so it adjusts fuel, so if the screw is out farther (2 turns versus 1-7/8 turns), it would be a little richer on the bottom. wouldn't hurt anything. some ty members have even needed to turn out their screws to 2 turns, instead of 1-7/8, to get rid of the hanging idle.
also, this is the only screw you adjust, to change the air/fuel ratio at idle-1/4 throttle.

why are you adjusting your carbs tho? espescially if you dont know what it controls.

Well lets see....He is rebuilding his own engine, cleaning his own carbs.... sounds like he is trying to learn about his sled. so stop trying to bust his balls.

Because he answered your question in his post, then you had to ask the same question again...along with what seems like a degrading comment....so it seems like you are trying to start something.

I'm sure most everybody else understoood the fact that he is cleaning his carbs, and wanted to know what the stock setting was on the fuel screws, so he could put them back to factory specs for the new engine.
Plus you have to unsrew them to get them out for cleaning (part of the carb clean process). So knowing what to set them back to seems to be a worthwhile question.
