Is there a rule of thumb, to what octane fuel to run, by what compression your motors putting out. Thanks

YA!!!!!!!! lol. THE RULE IS HIGH COMPRESSION MEANS CUT HEADS AND CUT HEADS MEAN TIGHT SQUISH AND THAT = HIGH OCTANE. ESPECIALLY IF THIS IS ON A OLD RACE 2 STROKE. 3:16 (yammie tony)

MUSCLE, BIG DEFFERENCE BETWEEN RACE GAS AND OCTANE BOOSTER. 3:16 (yammie tony)

i guess i should of phrased that differantly, i meant safe for 93+octane boost,or if i decided to run race fuel instead. but i think i would be leaning more towards 93 and octane boost for my 80 seeing as i like trail riding it. but i am also looking at buying a 76 srx just to drag race.

WHATS DONE TO YOUR 80 ? 3:16 (yammie tony)

right now my 80 is all stock, but i'm tearing down the engine to put new pistons/rings and gasket set in. i was gonna measure the squish beforehand, and maybe get the heads cut. i'm looking for a set of pipes that make someadditional power, but dont sacrifice it's dependability. also looking for carbs that do the same. just want to make a little more power without sacrificing what the sled already is. nice 2 ride and dependable

YOU WON,T NEED RACE GAS UNTIL YOU START TO CUT HEADS AND CHANGE SQUISH. 3:16 (yammie tony)
