one more thing it just started doin this but when you fire it up cold it wants to rev to about 3500 i know it sounds like its lean but its got 50 pilots in it and i havent changed anything and it just started doin it but i also noticed if you stop and let it idle during a ride it seems like when you go to take off its flooding a little and then a second or so after you take off it will run good again so i dunno im pullin the carbs tonight gunna check float level needle jet settings and fuel screw settings and see what i find also ill check the fuel tank vent if anyone has any other ideas please let me know

sounds like its running too lean, maybe a carb boot is torn.

well with 50 pilot for sure it will run flood if u open up the screw at specs....
i think the choke doesnt pull enough the plunger on carb ......make sure it pull all the plunger all the way not only haft way

it pulls it all the way out and the screws are set to spec but i just had the carbs out and noticed that when adjusted to 1 1/8 turns out one of the fuel screws actually pokes up into the carb bore is this normal

well on the end of the fuel screw is a point right and the tip of that point pokes thru the carb bore just a little its adjusted right but still sticks thru so does the fuel screw control the fuel that the carb is getting at an idle
yes if i understand good

but i believe the fuel screw get its fuel supple from the pilot jet so a bigger jet will cause more fuel at idle so makes sense ill try turning down the fuel screws now does anyone have a way of adjusting the fuel screw without pullin the carbs
