Need to pull carbs and do some cleaning. Had a lot of trouble starting at the beginning of the season, so thought I would replace the fuel pump while I had everything apart. My dealer wants close to $80 for a pump, was wondering if anyone has replaced theirs with a $30 Mikuni. Thanks.

Can't you just rebuild the one on yours?
Otherwise, I know cat and polaris run mikunis with no issues.

I am having trouble finding the right rebuild kit for my pump. Was curious if the mikuni would bolt right up without any issues (clearance, bolt pattern etc....).
I was wondering the same thing and i talked to a mechanic and was told ours are high performance pumps and flow 56 liters per hour and the round mikunis only flow 32 or 34 liters per hour. Could be a good chance to lean out and burn it down. As far as rebuilding these on my old 94 v-max I was told they are non-rebuildable, don't know about these, but i'm pretty sure it's the same pump except for a triple not a twin.

Mikuni does mae a hi-flo pump but thats pushing over 50 bucks, so just to be safe I'll have my dealer get me a OEM. Thanks for the replies.
