just quick question on my new helmet..it has two adj vents, one on bottom and one on top,,,it always seems to fog up on me,,,doesnt matter wether cold out or not...what is the best way to work these? should the vents be open or closed? should only one be open, and other closed? I never seem to get correct...any opinions? thank you, Pete

Is it a snowmobile helmet with a double shield or single layer shield? I race with a simpson bandit, and the vents won't help! My bandit fogg's no matter what you do. If you trail ride you should have a double shield or a heated shield.

ok..ok....I was just kidding.I have a no fog shield, and electric with a special no fog mask..and guess what..it will fog(if I breath) lol. If I crack open the visor as I start riding and then flip down ..I am ok on mild days..like today was -15 C.On real cold days is a real pain, and I wear glass also..double pain.

next time you ride....leave your glasses off and hold your breath.....that should help the fogging......not sure how far u would get,,, but no fog

my mechanic who lives down the road from me(doo rider) has a helmet from BRP,he wears glasses,no electric shield, has a special breath guard and he says he never fogs up.He and his buddies are hard core riders. They put on 200 miles a day runs and in really cold stuff to.He tells me the colder the better.Go figure, them BRP helmets are fairly expensive for me..like $500 to $600 for a mint one.Me I am in the range of 4200 to $250 the most.Maybe that's my problem..I am to cheap.I'll have to save up for one maybe.Might be sales on them at end of season.

try a motocross helmet with snow goggles (and OTG if you wear glasses) I got a Gmax 37x moto helmet and those Scott 87 OTG Turboflow goggles, I wear glasses like you, and these are meant for glasses, but in -35 celcius with -42 windchill, they dont fog up, but they ICE up!!! Not to bad, you can wipe it off with your gloves, lol. They are specifically snow goggles, and they have foam around the outer edges (like an extension to the goggles maybe? I dunno what to call it really, but absolutely NO air at all gets in around the face with it, so its warm to.
My HJC will only ice up on very cold condition's -10*f or colder. This only ices on the top 3/4" of the visor. I do not get any foging anytime. My wife has same helmet but higher w/s, does not fog or ice ever. We do use the nose, mouth air deflector and vents open.

My HJC works good but will fog to start usually. I will run with the top ven open always, the bottom vents occasionaly. I usually start with the visor up 2 clicks then move down to one after 5-10min then another 10min or so i will close it all the way and be good to go.
If you have the rear vents it is helpful to open those as it helps eliminate a lot of the heat, as weird as that sounds its the heat and moisture that causes the fog up.

I have a double layed zuce helment It fogs I just ride with vents open and crack the sheild up a bit or leave it open under 40mph it seams to work
Cracking the shield is what used to work best for me.
I bought the Doo modular when it came out a few years ago and never looked back.
With a heated shield I have zero fogging issues and I wear glasses.

only thing is you can't find a doo helmet in BLUE.Probably a good Helmet choice for sure. But they have different models to chose from, would like to find one that is good to better, but can get costly.

I have the first modular model they offered.
Being able to flip up half the helmet helps with putting on glasses.
The face mask with exhaust ports out the side give your breath vapors somewhere to go other than up across your glasses.
I know other companies offer modular hats, take a look around you might find something reasonable that works.
Then there's always contacts.
