No, actually is was pretty loose. Just tight enough so it didn't ratchet.

We're you missing any track clips? Maybe somethings tweaked from a hard hit at one times?

Don't rely on the thread measurement technique because the straps stretch. I will say I've never seen wear like that.
Track is pretty new as were the hyfax. Maybe 500 miles on both. Thanks for all the possibilities so far. I'll give it a good looking over.
How much preload do you have on the front shock, I think it may have too much?
not much, 3/4" of thread from no preload at all (shock out of skid). gaps on transfer rods are equal while sitting on it. I'll see if I can get a pick of the whole skid while it's out. Sled road fine, Weight transfer was good too. Held the ski's a couple inches off the snow. It seemed pretty good.
now that i look at it again, i see the tips, i thought you were worried about the slide wear at the rail in front of the wheel. the tips wear badly if you have been out in the powder with limiters way out. the oncoming pile of snow you are trying to climb pushes the track against the tips of the rails.
Now that's it! Holy crap. That's exactly what I was doing. Thanks BTV!

those rails look tweaked to me, they have a really steep angle on the front. maybe its just me...

I had wear like that and found it to be a combination of too much front shock preload and limiters let out too much. I was trying for traction and thats what I got. You can probably hear it when you get on it hard or feel the vibration. Just shorten up the limiters a bit.

Shouldn't the preload be set with shock in skid ??? it will compress just installing it.
