I went for a ride today down a icy road on my 98 SX700 and i notice flames coming out my exhaust when i let off sometimes. The sled is mostly stock except for a rumble pack, and im running 142.5 mains, and a clutch kit. Why is it doing this??
What is the rumble pack?

its a can, sounds like a friggin beast on a triple! But as for the flames i dunno what would cause them.
Do you have any of the original packing left in the can? Has the can gotten louder? With 142.5 that is the leanest you should ever be on a 700. I would check plug color and piston wash, if you are going to run this lean.
I run stock jetting, 143.5 and 145's. and stock exhaust. I am using Turk's clutch and gear tuning. I run the OEM jets due to making several trips to Minnesota a year where temps rang from -20*f to normal 25*f. I really do not like having burn down's or changing jets due to cold conditions.

The can has maybe 150 miles on it,and 142.5 is what turk recommended to me.
