Exciter Rear cooler question?

Bottomed the sled out pretty hard and punched a stud through the rear heat exchanger. What I was wondering is can I bypass the cooler until I get a new one so I don't miss out on riding for 2 weeks. Just wondering weather the front and tunnel heat exchangers would keep it cool.

I bypassed the front heat exhanger on my buddy's sled last night ran today 77 miles no problem, 25*f marginal snow conditions. I would be very carefull trying to bypass the rear, It is the largest of the exchangers, Is their anyway you can repair, I have had good luck filling a gouge or hole by alumabraze, this is like brazeing aluminum with a propane torch.
 
Ya I was just wondering, the heat exchanger was pretty gouged out when I bought the sled, so I just hit it the one time and sliced pretty good about an 1"1/2. I hate studs.
Got a line up on one so hopefully it works out.
 
I cut about half of mine off this year to clear for a long track conversion and I have not had any issues so far.
 
Aww its ok my shop teacher at school said he could weld it. this will just be temerory until my new one arrives. Thanks for the input though.
 
Hey is what alswagg said a workable solution for the front heat exchanger? And if so how exactly would i acomplish this. I have a 91 exciter 2 and my front heat exchager keeps getting pushed back towards my track. I was going to pull it back forward and put some metal braces to help hold it forward as well as cut down the longer bolts the previous owner put in to hold the access flap up, but if i can just pull it out and be done it might be a better solution.
 
We bypassed the front by cutting open a flap in the belly pan, I had the machine hoisted over my head on an overhead hoist, once the belly pan is loose you can see the hose attachments for the front cooler. I just used a piece of brass pipe I had laying around and attached the two hoses together. I use a large wire tie to secure the hose and connection away from the steering system. This was to be a temperary repair so we could ride the next day. It has now become perminant. The Exciter II now has an additional 200 miles on the modification. No heating problems. Be carefull to completely bleed the system before you ride.
