the sled is clunking at take off

well i changed out the belt tonight and it stoped clunking but know it is runnig real high RPMs till the belt catchs it sounds do the belts have to break in it also squeals at a stop its a yamaha belt. which way should the arrows be.

you need to take out the washers on the adjust. bolts on the back of the sec....If they are out already, you need to replace the adjuster bolts ,...they wear down!............................arrows always point north..lol/...lol ( could'nt resist that one..lol)

the washers are already gone. also i was wondering if the secondary is sopose to have a lil play side to side . whare do i get the bolts from.

hey im having the same cluncking problem i have the same sled its starts clunking at take off till around 15 mph i also i melted my slides that were new with only 250 miles on theme and it didnt start clunking till after that happend now the middle of the slides are at the line so they need to be changed
 
change your belt it will go away i bet. i took the belt off tonight again clened the sides of the clutches and clend the belt let it dry put it back on no squeal well at idel will check it latter if i go out for a ride hope stays gone and i hope the over reveing is gone.
 
am i correct when i say over reving when i say that i mean when i hit the gas the rpms are going up high and i dont seem to be moveing that fast. just want to clarify.
