srx over heating

I have a 98 srx 700 and when holding throttle wide open on lake engine temperature light flashes 3 times to signal overheating Rear rad is not getting that hot but some slight heat felt

Could it be air ? or water pump?

how much snow is on the lake?

Perhaps at WOT not enough snow hitting the coolers?

whats the sequence?? is it 3 then a pause then another 3 or just 3 then
it stops??????

it is 3 times at full throrrle only and stops until you return it to full throttle at higher speeds only .......never when putting around

sounds like a wired rubb somewhere from your coolant sensor .....check if its not broke at the connector
