My 02 viper 700 is turning off and on or at least all the display gauges go off and on when clickking from high beam to low beam headlight or when applying brakes Runs great if 1 headlight disconnected and taillight disconnected. I have tried new headlight swith and new stop light switch to no success i have also looked everywhere twice for shorts and found none.
Could it be the Smoothing condensor or rectifier/ regulator unit

Do you have electric start? Maybe a problem with the battery.

I believe Valin had a similar problem on his SRX.. on low beam sled ran ok, switch to high or add electrical load and sled would not rev up.. Problem was stator. Wire broken to windings.. May want to try PMing him for details on problem..

I had exact same issues on my Viper, stator was the cure.

no rub thru on harness makes it sure sound like a stator
sounds more like a wired ground to the body ......

did u pull the wire harness form under the motor and check it for rub through??
