I am interested in finding a way to widen my existing runningboards on my SXR. Are there kits available with good fit and finish or am I going to be forced to do this myself?
very simple, buy the edges for a new venture. slowly roll your boards down, flatten them out with a hammer and dolly. mark out the shape, cut off exess, rivet on. you will need to unhook the back of your trailing arms and the back of the bellypan to get at the three rivots where it hooks to the footwells. the very front of the edge will go on top of the board, about first 3 inches, the rest will go under the board. you will need to hammer in straight the sides where the footwell will rivet to the new lip.
the cover needs to be modified, cut, a little in the back for the taller new lip to go into it so it fits good.
we just did one here. I could do a set again in under 2hrs. whish i had done this to my viper when i had it.

I'd love to see pics too.
I was wanting to do the same to my 90 Phazer. Pics would be great. Were can these Edges for a new Venture be bought?
yamaha dealer. you can use ones from an 05 rx1 or newer short four stroke but they are about 3inches too short. they will work though, you just hide the joint under the bumper cover. I have not priced the venture ones. 06 venture is the year. you can bend them in the shape you need. if you heated them or cut and rewelded them you coud even do wide boards and have them come around at the right angle to go into the rear cover correctly so it would not need to be cut.
ill try to remember to get some pictures today. Heuw I think will be posting pictures of his sled im sure. he has had a great time building it at the shop.

go to snow eliminator web site they may offer something
Are we talking the RS Venture? Or just Venture 600? Year 06. The parts finder Im looking at the venture 600's running boards are built in to the tunnel like mine are.
Holy balls! The RS Venture edges are 101 and 92 bucks! Yikes. Well, time to save the paper route money...
sounds about right, if you keep searching for part numbers, they may be cheaper.

Easiest, is to find a set of ROX treads and add the extenders
Do they have a website?
Found it. Betheviper, Im still interested in seeing some pics of your suggestion though.
Looks like a mod that I am going to end up doing also.
