I am interested in finding a way to widen my existing runningboards on my SXR. Are there kits available with good fit and finish or am I going to be forced to do this myself?
BETHEVIPER said:very simple, buy the edges for a new venture. slowly roll your boards down, flatten them out with a hammer and dolly. mark out the shape, cut off exess, rivet on. you will need to unhook the back of your trailing arms and the back of the bellypan to get at the three rivots where it hooks to the footwells. the very front of the edge will go on top of the board, about first 3 inches, the rest will go under the board. you will need to hammer in straight the sides where the footwell will rivet to the new lip.
the cover needs to be modified, cut, a little in the back for the taller new lip to go into it so it fits good.
we just did one here. I could do a set again in under 2hrs. whish i had done this to my viper when i had it.
