Well ran into a problem where my 2000 srx won't start when the light switch is on low beam. Any ideas?

Sounds like your wires from the light are conflicting with the kill switch wire. Check it out by following the wires and looking for frays that intertwine with one another.

yammiegod, I think i'm running into the same problems you had, when i'm cruisin down the trail, guess it doesn't matter how much throttle i got applied, but when i go to the high beams i can feel the motor burp, i was like oh $h!t, first thing that came to mind was the harness, and my tach flickers..... I had no problems last year, and all of sudden this year i got all these trips planned, and not enough time to fix the harness. part of me says "ahh F**k it, it wont die on me this year" but the other part thinks it could happen tomorrow.

DUDE, MINE WAS BAD. AND I BOUGHT THIS SLED BRAND NEW IN 2000. I HAD IT ALL. NO TACH, SPEEDO JUMPING ALL OVER, KILL SWITCH NOT WORKING, HEAD LITE GONE AND HIGH BEAM KILLED MOTOR. I ALSO THINK MY TORS ACTED UP BECAUSE SLED WOULD START FOR 5 SECONDS AND DIE. I WAS LUCKY THOUGH I ACTUALLY NEVER FOUND RUB THROUGH. COOLANT HOSE HAD SMASHED MY WIRES. CLEANED, EVERYTHING, WRAP EVERYTHING AND REROUTED HARNESS, SLEDS GREAT. BECAREFUL WITH THIS, IT CAN GET YA STUCK. 3:16 (yammie tony)

carefull pull harness out from underneath engine on exhaust side. inspect, tape, wrap in plastic convoluted tubing, and route above carbs, attach to air box if you like. then check wiring into CDI above left footwell. repeat earlier steps. mine was cutting out WOT, freezing up and not starting, blurping, headlight, tach, blah blah blah. now 500 miles later and absolutely no issues... knock on wood. try some dialectic grease on all connections as well. for a lazy *** like me (w/a life) it took about two nights. 7 beers... and no bullshit from the wife... thank god & Good Luck!
