Does any outfit sell such a thing? I thought I saw someone had these awhile back. I keep forgetting to check it out. Every time I ride in the UP or Northern Wisconsin (sugar or lake effect snow) I end up getting that snow dust around my carbs and it starts to babble on low end. I can quickly remedy it by turning on the carb heat bypass valve......but I actually get worse gas mileage if I run the coolant through the carbs all the time. Naturally the snow dust comes from the guy riding in front of you, but I rarely lead when I trail ride up there.
thanks
thanks

Thanks, I also noticed that the Yamaha part number is no longer available. I did check out outerwears. Does anyone know exactly what you get? Is it a cover for the airbox or the actual cold air intake ducts on the hood? Here is the link:

go to www.hiperf.com they sell the material in sheets and you can make the covers for the intake scoops on a viper. I ran both on mine the air box cover and the FAI covers, made a big difference. Maxdlx
Pre-filters on the airbox are a must if you ride deep powder.

Thanks on this tip. What did you use to fasten the material for the scoops?

If you don't wanna spend big bucks on the sheets of pre-filter material , i found a thread on 4-stroke forums about a material called ORGANZA, Its a very tight fabric that breaths well but i may try some scotch gaurd on mine to see if i can make a bit more water proof. 4'x4' sheet for 6 bucks. Any fabric store will have it and comes in lots of colours. I figured it was worth a try.

I might check that out. I was thinking of making a velcro edge on it and fastening it underneath the hood around the FAI scoops and making it a quick release type of thing.
