96 F3 600 vs. 01 SXR 700

Sadly, stock to stock if the F3 is tuned well it will be pretty close. The F3 is actually a little more horsepower, but more weight as well. Depends on a lot of factors, but the sxr also would have a real good chance of pulling off the win. Put triples on the sxr and its all over ;)!

I have 2 very good buds with f-3,600s. If they are clutched well a 700 sx will not win! With pipes a 700 sx(r) will clobber the f3 in a short race but on the big end the 600 is amazingly close. I have been running this race with my buds for 3-4 years now!

Yea i had a Polaris XLT a couple years ago with PSI triple pipes and some good ass clutching, along with 144 studs, and i had a buddy with a F3, and i would always beat him in the first 800 feet or so, and then he would just slowly but steadily start walking by, everytime. Those things sure are tanks though :yam:

Well, an XLT really isnt that fast to begin with. I had a '95 600 XCR and it was only good for about 80 mph. It was the same as an XLT but had high-compression heads and was good for about 95 hp. Mine didnt have triple-pipes but you could have gotten a XCR 600 SP that year that was a totally different sled than what I had.
Even if you had an XLT that was tweaked to the limit you are only looking at 110 hp.
F3s werent that fast either. I used to smoke MXz 583s all day long with my 600 XCR. Mine was almost totally bone stock too. I tweaked the clutch a bit and I dropped one tooth top chaincase gear. My XCR was set up to absolutely haul from 0-80 mph. I ride mostly twisty trails, and for that my XCR kicked butt. I rode with a lot of people who had bigger, newer and more powerfull sleds that could not keep up with me in the woods.
I say that the SXr pulls away off the line and never looks back.

Sorry hebi...i had a 96 xcr-sp that was ported clutched & tuned to the nutz. I have been drag racing since 94! I have seen 1st hand what wins against certain sleds. The 95-96 f3 600 tuned properly will destroy a 700 sx. I have 2 good buds that own 2-96,s & a 95 & we race every weekend. You need pipes on a 700 to beat the doo 600. I saw it at sanctioned drags back from 96-00 too till the 600 polaris took over that spot!

I think the small block Polaris triple was the best triple polaris ever made, but they were junk without triple pipes. Someone correct me, but I think they were the lightest triple ever made. Dry weight on my 93' XLT was listed at like 480lbs I believe. All I know was that piped XLT I had was a blast to ride. I have no problem believing the XLT would take a F3 off the line.

Glad i'm not the only one who thought those piped XLT's were fast, but those F3's sure as hell were/are fast too

Piped XLT/XCRs are light and fast, but they are timebombs. My brother took the oil pump out of his and runs straight pre-mix now due to the fact that those things like to blow up so often. His 95 XCR has SLP heads, SLP pipes, 38mm flat slide carbs and is clutched. It moves pretty good and has beaten quite a few newer 600 and up cc sleds that he has raced. I liked that chassis, but its way outdated now!

Yea, lol, those things barely even need skis, they never touch the ground, especially when cornering. They're light and easy to toss around and can be modded easy to make some good power, but they have so much inside ski lift it isn't funny. Reminds me of a s2000 chassis skidoo

Hey Hebi, Wana race that 600X against my f-3 on the lake? Iv'e got an m-10 so it must be really slow, cause we all know that you loose 5 mph with an m-10 right?
