ok guts I got another question for you my speedo is way off as far as accuracy goes it says I am going like 90mph when actually I'm probably doing 30mph I pulled the cable from the speedo it looks ok so i pulled it from the driveshaft end and everything there looks ok also. whats wrong with it? is the speedo itself junk?

Does that mean that you can do almost 300mph? Now boys, that's a "dream-o-meter"!
On a serious note.....I don't know.

have u done anything with your undercarrige or track lately?
yeah this is the fastest srx I've ever seen it will bury the needle and still be climbing in a 100 foot track must be able to do close to 300mph! LOL nope haven't done anything it has been like this for the last couple years just haven't cared to fix it until now.
Might be the drive adapter thingy under the secondary. If you have 9 tooth drivers I've got one I'll send you.
mine started to do something like that tonight ...burried it in like 300 feet and when i stoped it said i was still doing 40 for about 5 seconds before it come to 0 ...and when i took off i was doing mabe 10 mph and it jumped rite up to 60 ish ,,,,took like 10 miles til it started working rite ....thinking the cold might have had something to do with it ........if yours does this all the time i would say it is the speedo it self ..something inside it had to be screwed up ...got access to another yamaha you could swap the speedo ont just to see if it is the speedo ?
It is a 2000 SRX700 I don't know what it is for sure I would have to look at it.
as for doing it all the time yes it does it all the time its been doing it for the past couple years I just haven't cared about fixing it til now

serious track spin lol
do you think the speedo itself is junk
I would try another pickup if I were going to get into parts changing. Could the pickup be too close to the gear and getting false readings? Just a thought. Does it seem consistently high or intermitently high.
