so my 2002 yamaha viper was frozen stuck fresh gas... and a bottle of iso heet in it started dide started and then made a really loud backfiring noise then started and stayed running was just wondering if this backfire may have hurt anything? thanks :2strokes:

I had that happen to me this year after pouring gas down the jugs like 10 times in an attempt to start it for the first time. Everything seems okay, but it was as loud as a gun shot... scared the hell out of me. I hope everything's okay... I've been running it, and it seems normal.

I had the same after pouring into jugs , it blew the expansion chamber off , lucky the springs held . It is the unburned fuel igniting
in the y-pipe or exaust I figure , small short fire and then she ran fine . I havn't had any issue running so far this year ( 300km) . Don't baby them , there yamaha's !!!! ;)! ;)!

Imagine this.......flying along on my 05 rx 1ton fresh 10-12 inches of snow on the trail, can't really see the bumps because its still snowing very hard. Go into a cornoer and my hand comes off the bars and lands on the kill switch, I think oh crap my buddy is right on my tail and he is gonna hit me so I scramble really fast to pull the kill switch back up, turn the key to start while pinning the gas. Right as it fires up my buddy is at my bumper and flames from the rear exhaust go over his head with a huge boom. I thought for sure I had blown a hole in the exhaust or something but nothing was hurt and it was great story for the bar later after riding.
