i recently purchased some reeds and carb boots off evil bay for my phazer project. anyway when i got them they have fiber reeds. my question is are these stock or did someone install after market reeds. i have always seen steel reeds stock. thanks for any help....

i belive stock reeds are white and kinda see through ...if they are black they are likely aftermarket

phazer reeds are thin steel..anything else are after market.

just to clear it up, i am installing vmax 600 reeds in a phazer 485
they are a clearish white looking color. and defenatly not steel like the ones in the phazer engine. thanks....

Sounds about right. Mine are a semi-translucent white petal.
