My 02 780 Viper let loose a piston from the connecting rod so it banged the top of the rod good enough so it will not accept a new wrist pin and bearing.
It will go on but its way way to tight. Can it be repaired.

you can send your crank out to either cb performance, or jeff @ midwest crank in wisconsin. they will have to press that counter weight section apart, and put a new connecting rod on it.

Any idea how much that is going to cost?
well i know that the connecting rod lists for $90.00 on port yamaha site as i was looking for my brother. you would have to phone them for a quote. i would check the rest as 2/3 on my brother's where toast or moving too much. time to do it now before it does it again on another cylinder.

Thanks Guys I sent the crank to Pat Hauck to be repaired for around $400.00
yea i had mine done at midwest for 450, way better than the 1800 for a new one
