Just wondering how far up the belt should go up the primary when you are wot.I'm trying to dial mine in now i was over revving so i put 4.5grams in the tips of my weights and at wot its still around 88 to 8900 i checked the primary and the belt is staying down about 3/8 of an inch and i can only get 98mph out of it. Any ideas would be great .
no it is a new belt.
mines overreving too and i noticed mine belt running low in primary ...i thought they should run almost to the top of plates like closer to 1/4" am i wrong in assuming this

yamaha belt? cleaned well before installed?scuff clutches?clean clutches?Stock clutching?
Its a yamaha belt I haven't cleaned it clutches are cleaned and all I have done is put 4.5 gram weights in the tips and shimmed up the spring to up my in engaugement.

too much twist on your secondary spring will also cause this. you want just enough twist to backshift good. too much & it will over-rev & not open all the way.
