Did Yamaha ever start welding crank pins on the SRX 700? A fellow sold me one said it came from a school as it was donated with 270miles..how he got the crank I dont know. I mean I checked it out and it seems perfectly fine. ALl bearings spin good, no catches, no slop blah, blah....but its welded on the outer pins. They never welded the inner.s Thanks in advance.

when they welded my 98' one they welded every place the crank was pressed together .i bought a new yamaha crank for my 01' last year and it was only welded on the lower connecting rod pins.probally depends on what shop did the crank recall work. just looked at a 98' srx600 crank i have with a rod brg gone and it is also welded at all joins.
