Hey guys,
I can't believe all the burn downs I am reading about this season, It sounds like most of them might be due to lean conditions, colder temps and possibly bad gas.
That brings me to my question, We are suppose to run 91 octane in Vipers , I have a gas station close by that sells 108 or 110 octane(one or the other, I can't remeber). Would it help to run or mix this high octane fuel in the sled ,so as to help avoid possible problems when running in colder temps ???

Interesting Question Because I Have A Guy In New Hampsire A Well Respected Mechanic Who Says Dont Run High Octane But Run 87 Insead. I Had A Buddy Who Ran It In His O2 Cat 800 Zl All Last Season And He Said No Problems Or Noticable Difference In Performance. The Best Thing About All The Gas We Buy Trail Side Who The Hell Knows What It Really Is Any Way?

I CAN TELL YA IF YOU HAVE ACESS TO RACE FUEL, RUN IT. WORKS GREAT WITH PREMIX WITH 91. I WOULD USE IT 1-4 OR 2-6. THIS CAN SAVE A PISTON. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I was worried this last weekend about the fuel at a station that only had 87 octane. I only needed 3 gallons in each sled. At next fuel stop made sure to fill up with 93 octane. Boosting octane with alcohol is the worst. I would rather run 87 regular no lead than 89 or 91 no lead with alcohol.
