I have been working on my sled for a long time now and I have just about the entire sled apart. I took it apart because I am just doing a entire clean up on the sled and many mods. Here are many pictures of how it is coming along. I just got some rear viper shocks to put into my rear suspension and I am doing a lot of other things also. These pictures are mainly pictures with my engine out and my chaincase. The last thing I am going to take apart is the front suspension (I think that is the only thing left for me to take apart) to clean it all up I dont think I am going to remember how to put it all back together. To much stuff is apart, here are the pictures. Thanks for looking

The sled looks awsome. I just wish my 2001 looked that clean. I have one thing that you should check on. The wire harness that would be located under the engine. Their was a service update to relocate the wire. The wire would chafe on the metal on the bulkhead directly under where the coolant hose crosses the harness. let me know. I had that problem before. It was only known on the 2000 SRX. Brad

Ya lets try and get a specific location on that.2000srx if you could point it out on your sled seeing that it is all apart.

In order to find it, I could make some copies of the bulletin, and send them to anyone who asks for it. I would be more than happy to send them out. All I ask for is for you send me the postage. You e-mail me direct at bradsrx700@hotmail.com

Since you all asked for me to point this out, I went down to work last night and I started ripping apart my sled even more. Then I remembered that you all wanted me to point out where this wear had occured. Sure enough it happened on my sled and I found it and took some pictures, If you guys hadnt mentioned it, I would have never found it. Here are some pictures of wires that almost got cut.

Those are our skis that we make, the whole front end is what we make for snowmobiles, we have already taken over 12 pounds just off of the front of my srx with our front end kit and we are taking much more off this year by making our rear suspension parts out of aluminum as well. We will probably take about 10-12 pounds more off of this sled. You can check out our products online at www.cbperformanceparts.com and it will show you all of the stuff that we sell and make, when it comes to snowmobiles we do everything and anything, what ever a customer wants. BTW those skis alone are 4 pounds lighter then the stock plastic skis!

You do not have to pull the motor. Take the pipes and carbs off and carefully fish out the harness and repair. Then fish it back under the motor. I used a coat hanger taped to the end of the harness. It is not easy but can be done.

Shit,I just did that a month ago to clean that whole area.Oh well here I go again.
P.S is there enough wire to pull it out a little? I think I'll the automotive wire loom protectors. That ribbed stuff.

since I have my engine already out, I am going to drill out that rivit that is holding the wire holder and relocate it about 2 inches to the left. Then of coarse I will tape it all back up, thanks for mentioning this problem. And that is unfortunate that you did that a month ago and didn't find it. Thanks

I talked to my dealer, and he can't remember if he did my machine (Im second owner).Hes going to talk to the tech dude and see if he remembers. My machine has 4000 miles on it and if it was done in 2000 then Im sure it would have been noticible when I rode it late last year.
If Im bored I'll take the pipes off and have a peek.

nice pics 2000srx.I will be attempting to remove my SRX engine.Am worried about the oil lines and the such only.I want to clean the whole engine compartment good, work on the steering post connector.Probably will then open up the top end and do a re-build.Got 5500 miles on her now, compression is still around 120 per cyl.It sure is tempting to get the cyl ported at the same time.I have to see if there is anyone locally who could do a mild port job and be trustworty.A little nervous about doing the work, but will take my time. There is no snow coming for a while anyways and have my 600 to ride just in case.

There was a guy mentioned by Turk, Darcy R contact turk for more info and also 800vmax4 said Les Barton from Winnipeg Phone # 582-9530

And Bluemonster1 this is a 5 yr old tread

I just got done relocating my harness on my 99 Srx, instead of worring about it under the motor I ran it across the top of the carbs and then down the bulkhead where it comes up by the clutches. I drilled a few tiny holes and put in some push in style zip ties to keep it from possiably getting it in the primary. I think it still looks nice and clean all zip tied up.
