I have 7500 miles on my 01 SRX. The motor and clutches have been bulletproof. I have never touched them. I noticed that I was topping out at just over 9000 RPM's. I put a new belt on and it brought my RPM's back down to 8700. 600 miles later, my RPM's are back to 9000 top end. Should the belt wear that fast or do I need some clutch rebuilding/maintenance? If so, any suggestions would be appreciated. (Sled has stock clutching)

new springs will raise rpm,s if anything

exactly, old springs that are weak, will cause the clutches to shift out harder, thus leading to lower peak rpms. how are your bushings on the movable sheaves of the clutches? could 1 of the clutches, be binding during shifting?
