Just bought a new 2002 srx having a rip saw track and max pref. rods installed. should I change the gearing while its apart ? going to clutch it later this winter

I would drop the top gear down a tooth to get a little more low end grunt, ...you can keep your stock chain and not lose much top end if any, as well. ;)!

SRX EH is right about that. One tooth in the top (from 23 to 22) would be perfect. I did samething to my 2000 SRX and now to my 2001 SRX. I never noticed a loss at all on the top speed. I still ran 116mph on radar with it. What a differece in accelleration you will get with that new track. Brad
