Rising cost of Yamalube from local dealer

I called the local Yamaha Dealer R&D Motorsports and asked for current cost of Yamalube 2S. He quoted $38.00 per gallon! I was shocked and asked again, "not 2R but 2S" He again quoted $38.00. The counter guy said just got a new shipment with a price increase. BS!!!! I called another dealer Max Pitts Yamaha, quoted $24.50 per gallon. I asked about a price increase from Yamaha, he said no increase on oil. Just thought I would let everyone know about price gouging from some dealers. R&D Motorsports is about an hour away and Max Pitts is about 1 1/2 hour. I drove today and bought a case of 4 gallons, should be enough for the rest of year. I will not do any more buisiness with R&D Motorsports. I believe in fair profit but not outragious profit, or price gouging. Al

hard times are here.And companies will do anything to maintain a profit I guess..which in my estimation is GREED and they don't care about average Joe 6 pack. If word is spread aound how certain companies or dealers operate,they will soon themselves be out of business.It is a different world out there now,and consumers will go where the best deal is(like you did).People are trying to stretch their $$$ to go further in this time of uncertainty..I know I am watching where I spend $$$.
 
just bought 4 qts of yamalube yesterday at dealer here in town 27.00 out of gallon cont. and also buying 4-1 qt. cont. was cheaper than a gallon which was 28 and some change.
 
I think i paid $32 canadian for a gallon of 2S. I have to pick some up tomorrow and will see what it is. I remember when i first bought my viper it was $22 bucks.
 
before Xmas I bought a case of four 4 Liter jugs for $92.00 CAD (plus taxes)... That's 23 bucks CAD for for a 4 litre jug.. (4000 mls)

that dealer needs to be exposed and a consequent "tune up"... I walk away from shops like that and NEVER go back...
 
thats why the dealer is usually refered to as the STEALER. sales must be down there and they are trying to make it up in the parts department. i bought some lucas semi - syn oil at oreily auto parts for $20. a gallon that i am going to try due to the rising cost of most of the other stuff. the only way the prie of 2S gets any better for be is if i buy a case and i dont want to buy 4 gallons at a time.

I have gotten the measage!! The sad part is, last summer I spent over $4,200 in over the counter parts, for PWC's. I would have expected a little grattitude. I try to do buisiness with as many local dealers and buisinesses as possible. I heard yesterday one of the local Marina's which is my competition has raised their labor rate to $105.00 hr. In these times, I do not believe this is the right move. I am going to send out a flyer this spring with special incentives for spring services, and a 10% discount on labor to new clients, and for customers who refer new clients. Well enough ranting. Let's go sledding
 
Just buy the citgo, or the arctic blue. It's the same stuff, but less $$.

I have been running arctic blue in all of our sleds besides the xcsp for many years now.
 
I just picked up a case of 12 quarts citgo sea nand snow from Beebe Oil in Utica MI for 45.94. Plus tax. If you order 2 cases they will deliver for free. They have a case of 4 gallons od sean and snow for 57.00 something a case. Website is www.beebeoil.com and phone number is 1-586-739-0090
 
There is a local boat dealer here that sells Yamaha motors. They buy 2s in bulk 55 gallon barrels. I bring in an empty yamahalube jug and they charge 19.99 per gallon to refill it. $38 bucks is pretty unreasonable.
 
I run Redline syn. 2-stroke oil in my quad and I pay 50 a gal. But I mix it at 60to1. Ouch, it really adds up when you ride a lot
 
Max Pitts is a great dealer. Bought several sleds from them and have been treated great each time. Stopped there last sat. and bought new carbides and Sammy (main parts guy) gave me a 25% discount without even being asked. Arron the owner is easy to deal with, always get great pricing from him with no BS.
 
Don't count out your local "farm supply" or "surplus" type stores. I get 2s for ~18$ a gallon at the local farm supply store. I Usually run this or Amsoil, which ever is cheaper.

yep, even though max pitts has gotten huge over the years they still seem to give their best effort and get good deals to the customer!
 
Bought a gallon of yamalube for $28 yesterday at the local dealer. This is after I looked for several days trying to find Citgo, anyone in MN know where they sell it?
