i have a 99 srx 700 with a bender heel clicker clutch set up and an mbrp can..doesn't seem to be workin great tops out at 140kms...what can i do to get more out of this sled..i want to walk over a mach z 800...

nuke the can. You should be revving 8400 rpm on top end. I bet your underevving & have pulled thru powervalves.
I am betting you recently bought this sled & know nothing about how it is supposed to run.

X2!!!......

Ditto!! there is something deffinittly F'd up with that sled if thats all you can get out of it. Did you just buy it? What gearing is in it? Does it get up and go to get to that speed fast or is it kinda a pooch even getting there? with out knowing more info it is hard to tell what is wrong with your sled. could be clutched wrong, could be geared way to low for short runs, could be power valves not operating right, could be carbs. Tell us more about how it runs.

i have had the sled for a year and this motor is new..its reving at 8500 and holding...my last srx 700 would hit 100+ mph and it had no clutch work....i checked all the powervalves and they are all good...

it hits in at 4500 and goes right to 8500 gearing is stock..like i said befor powervalves are good and cleaned and the carbs have just been cleaned.. could it be the bender clutch set up wrong...

if your running those Rpms the clutching should be good. you are positive it has stock gears in it? 23/38? is your secondary clutch getting hot?

found the prob., bottom gear is the wrong one..its a 39 tooth...i must have grabed the wrong one...i also have a 37 tooth that i am going to try..

i'm not looseing any rmps..and by droping one tooth size on the bottom give me more top end speed?? what do you guys thinks of the bender pipe and can set upthat they have also along with there cold air intake.

I'm not thinking this is a "need more add-ons issue" Still sounds like something wrong needs to be resolved rather than trying to add a pipe or cold air kit. From what I understand, you should be seeing over 100 easy on a steady basis in stock form. I would set everything back to stock and run it and see where you are. If it improves, It's clutching. If no improvement, It's most likely the valves/carbs. How's the compression?

Just a guess. I'm still trying to resolve my own top end issues.

Good luck

tall order trying to beat a tri-tri mach z 800 ....but it can be done.....i have an 02 and ran down a lake yesterday (breakind a trail foot deep snow) at 2/3 throttle reading 90 mph (speedo) and could accellerate from there ...yours is definately not running right.follow TURKS advice

one tooth wont lose you that much top speed.

its 2 teeth. he has on a 39 tooth sprocket, instead of the stock 37 tooth one.

shawneye, throw in that 37 tooth sprocket, and let us know how it works. on my old '99 700 srx, i had a bender clutch kit, and it topped out at 100-105mph. changed the clutching (don't remember what) and back to 115mph. that bender kit i had sucked for top end. it got there real quick, but then that was it.

my mistake, didn't notic it was a 99 ,but 23-39 is still enuf gear to get 100-105 mph no problem if all else is good.

I have a 2000 SRX700 geared 22/39 it will hit 100mph in 1000' and its still pulling not sure what it will top out at? guessing 105-110mph

Are your clutches going coming all the way to the top and fully shifting out.Take a marker.Put a line on our primary and find out if our belt is going to the top at w.o.t.
