are your heads stock? what squish clearance do you currently have? wot means "wide open throttle". 37tooth will give you more top end...yes. for the marker line (have belt off), draw a line that starts from the center (where the belt would sit at idle) and run the line out towards the outside of the sheave. you can then see how far the belt rides up the sheaves, by seeing how much of the marker is worn off.
yes my heads are stock....i'm taking them to the machinest to have them checked to make sure they are no worped...how far should the belt be going up the sheaves, right to the very top??

belt won't go to the very top.....the top of the belt at full shift, will sit about 1/4"-5/16" from the outer of the primary.
will try all this and let you know friday..thanks

becareful when planning the heads, your looking for more topend speed so don't tighten the squish too much.

only takin 5000 off. should be ok..
ok shes back togeater...still not hitting the mph i want to see..i changed the bottom sprocket to a 37 witch is one below stock...heads are planed 5000...still have to check clutch to make sure the belt is going all the way up...bender says the sled should be reving at 8200-8300 and mine is over reving to 85/86...i did gain i can now do 150kms and 3/4 throldle but if i hammer down it over reves...i' just going out now to check the clutch and i will let everyone know...ont he other hand me and the mach z 800 lined up and i helded him till i toped out then he blew by me...
the belt is about 5/8 " from the top of the clutch...i think i'm going to try changing the bottom gear again to a 36 and change the weights on the tips of the ramps..

i wouldn't go to a 36t bottom sprocket. there's something wrong w/your clutch recipe.....either weights, rivets, springs, and or helix, aren't working right together as a team, to give you the top end you desire. i would look into the clutch setup a little further. what's your clutch setup again?
its stright from bender..its there heel clicker clutch kit..it came complete.

Phone Yamaha with your vin# to verify that your crank has been done. Also Turk had a post about the heel clicker clutch weights not touching the rollers at top end, do a search for his post or PM him, he won't bite.
i'm going to go at the clutch again...to try to get this pos to rev right....it has to be in the clutch every thing els is working right....going to change the weight on the tip of the ramp and see what that does..thanks for all the help and info.
ok heres what i got...i changed the top sprocket to a 24 tooth and put 1gram on the tip of the ramps.....things are good...was running at 145kms per hour now with the changes i'm hitting 190/195kms per hour and only reving at 8000rpm..called bender and they would like to see the revs at around 8300/8400...so i'm going to take a half a gram off the tip of the ramp and try that...hopfuly get 200kms out of her.....

1/2g probably isn't going to give you the 300-400 more rpms your looking for. you'll most likely need to lose like 2g or more.
i just added one to it to get the revs down and changed the gear..i think two might be a bit much and i will be over reving again.

SRX's cruise at 87 mph! My 99 lost power with a can but still went 110 al day long--bone stock otherwise....
