the sled is set-up with all adjusters set at the hardest settings as the old owner was way heavier than me and the ride is unbearable. i just want to know how to get at the adjusters to set them at looser settings.i tried with a hammer and punch but not enough room to get it started. is there an easier way or could someone with pictures explain how to take off the skid so i can change these adjustements.i adjusted the front shocks and can feel a difference allready so i want to try this before getting a new skid or new shocks from a viper etc..last plea for help someone help me out please..

theres a jam nut on all the shocks, get that loose and you should be able to spin the spring by hand, then tighten up the jam nut. Lift up the back of the sled, that should give you enough room, but will still be tight.

the jam nut being the 2nd collar ? if so i even have a shock wrench for my mx bikes that is the same but ther is no way to get it in that tight spot so i thinking i have to remove the skid and dont know how unless there is a trick to it

Loosen track..... support rear of sled.... remove bolts from side of tunnel..starting from rear...there are 3 on each side....let skid out of tunnel, remove from track...installation reverse of removal. One suggestion is loosen the bolt that goes into the bottom of the transfer rods... this will take the pressure off of the center mounting bolts. Have fun.

No real trick to removing the skid. It's six bolts. remove them, roll it on it's side and pull the skid out. I think that the tech pages (tab at top of this page will get you there) has a pretty good write up too.

If your not sure on how to adjust the shock or remove the rear suspension, you are going to have a hell of a time getting the suspension back in.
Find a freind that has experience or take it to the dealer for help.

Where in Wisconsin do you live? Alot of TYers over there that might be able to meet with you and help.

ya new to the area and the sport of sledding but i work on all my mx bikes and atv's so figure i can figure it out. i have yet to be happy with the few times ive gone to a dealer so thats not really an option plus i cant afford that since reocating lol. ive just re-locted from hawaii to beaver dam wi and if anyone is close by and has some extra time to point me in the right dirrection i can offer beers and lunch.also looking for someone to ride with i got lost last week when i went by myself..

you can remove shock with two bolts one top one bottom with sled supported adjust shock and put back in one shock at a time thats how i do it

ok will try this week was it hard to get the shocks back in place ? what did u use to support sled. did u hav to take of the straps or anything else..ty

You hold the rear of the sled up on the bumper the same heigth it is now than the shock goes in easy.I never take the shock out to lossen the spring.Knock the jam nut loose with a long drift or old scewdriver. And put a filter strap on the spring and it should back the other nut off with it.Have somebody lift the sled a little if it needs it.
