hi all, new to the forums!
i have a 97 vmax 700 that ive been riding this season and have had a blast!!!
totally new to riding sleds and loving it!
problem is that something broke last night in my suspension and stuck out the side and stoped me dead in my tracks and allmost chucked me over the bars. it looks like the front mounting point for the shock and also supports the limit straps....or somthing like that! LOL
im going to get out there in a little bit and pull the skid out and figure out what exactally broke.
im sure i can replace just the broken part but i actually have the opportunity to buy a complete suspension/skid out of a friends 04 rev that is being parted out for very cheap.
my question is has anybody else done this? if so how did it ride? where did you put the mounting points? did it make the front "dart around" or make it front heavy at all?
this seams like it would make my day alot nicer as right now im keeping up with people on new sleds and a ton of suspension travel through some pretty crappy trails and im riding a older sled with little rear suspension travel. i think the extra 6 or 8 inches of travel would make my day alot more comfortable but want to make sure that it will actually be rideable.
either way, thanks alot!!!!

The W arm is what broke, and new it will cost you 157 bucks. plus it should be gusseted before installing it. Is the rev skid a sc4 or sc5, either way it will ride 100 times better than a proaction. There are some posts on here with the measurments. maxdlx

Does the Rev use a std 121 x 15" track? If so i say go for it. just get the support brackets from his skid, and measure the mounting holes from the top of the tunnel as well as from the driveshaft and you will be good just measure a couple times first.l

yup, standard 121 track.
i just got home from picking up the skid and the whole old chasis/tunnel
ill use the old tunnel for measurements and then cut it up and recycle it!
im going to try to take pictures and make a write up for it when im all done that could be used by future people doing the same swap. i will try to include pics of where to measure and drill and how it turns out.
my sled is gonna be the best riding roached out beater ever! its not pretty but goes like a civ and will now take those mogals like no ones business. LOL
anybody know how i can get any more power out of it with out going to triple pipes? i dont really want to spend any or as little money as possible as im trying to get a new sled for next season.
ive heard of people taking a layer out of the headgasket. also i have some kind of round can on it that sounds loud and my butt dyno ses it feels faster with it but not totally sure.
i also have a bender secondary clutch and the primary clutch looks stock but i dont know if anything has been done to it.
stock jets are in it now.
thanks
