Has anyone ever sleeved a SRX cylinder? I know you would need diff rings but Im no fan of chrome cylinders, IMO that causes the most piston failures. REgualr alloy sleeves and pistons is a tried and trued setup. THX in advance.

your srx cylinders aren't chrome plated....they're nicasil plated. will last a lot longer than a steel liner.

Yamaha's don't have chrome cylinders they have nicasil lined cylinders which is a very hard coating and long lasting as well. Many times an engine will even be blown up and some of the cylinders can be reused. There are many companies in this region that repair and recoat cylinders.Personally I would'nt try to change it because that coating is part of the overall design of an engine package even in regards to cooling and what compression ratio is ran.
