Hello, i Have a SC-10 4 rear suspension out of a 07 800 MXZ X Rev. I was wondering if anyone has put this in a Viper and if they have any pics of it mounted in, or any more info i should know? I'm pritty sure it will fit but i'm not really sure where i'll have to put the new holes to mount it and stuff. I'm sure that the mounts are the same as the SC-10 3 or 2 rear skid so if anyone has put that in a viper it would probly help me aswell. Thanks

I installed a SC10 III out of a 05 MXZ X Renegade... love the ride, between softer suspension, easier to adjust, and longer rails (136" track).

Isn't the SC10-4 shocks arranged backwards ?? If so..not sure how well this suspension will work in a conventional sitting position sled... I was told that they were going to change the shock positions due to excessive kick back in the XP chassis and this was going to address that issue... just food for thought. It may not work as intended or as a SC10-3..

aw, i did not know this, will it still work ok, or will it just completly not work at all? I am planing on putting a boss high rise seat and 5" bar risers on it but not till next year, so that will get the rider forward into the equasion somewhat, but not till next year and i am planing on installing that skid this friday... I was looking at it and i think i know what ur talking about and was wondering if switching the linkage between the two shocks would make it wrk?, or will it wrk anyway...

I installed a sc10 3 in my viper and really like the results. softer ride and better transfer when accelerating. I installed springs from an x model sled and a fox remote resivoir 8 clicker shock to help get it dailed in. mxz adrenaline setup was way to soft for me, bottomed out alot.

I have the X package HPG shocks in mine with the stock springs, what are the differences in the Doo setups? I see Rev/Adrenaline/Renegade but I dont know enough about em to know the difference...

guy I bought the skid from also had a pair of 'fat man' springs to go with the skid, I think i am going to put those in pretty soon, I bottom out pretty easy on the #3 block setting, but no darting... kicked it up to #4 setting and it took a little more to bottom it out but it darts like crazy...

gsx = cruiser, adrenaline = trail , x = trail/big bump (ie. stiffer setup) I dont have a darting problem on mine at all. I have stock ski's with shims and use shaper bars with 8" cabides. Have you tried adjusting the limiter strap at all ? Mines pulledin with one open hole left. Do you have a part # on the 'fat man' springs, was also considering going to the next stiffest spring. Then i can adjust the shock a little softer. I have it at 7 out of 8 .

I have the limiter strap set pretty tight, there is slack in it when it is just sitting in the shop, i havent checked when I am sitting on it though... I have factory skis too, they were shimmed but the rubber bumpers are pretty shot so I think that is causing most of my darting... I dont have the part numbers for the springs, I'll do some researching...

I used 1" square plastic pieces that go on chair or table legs to protect the floor. bought them from wal-mart,less than 2 bucks i believe. beenon there 5 yrs. now.

Don't know how it will work...on a rev, your sitting right above the curve in the rails... on our sleds the only way to get that far forward is to sit on the gas cap. #$%&*

As far as work, it will work just not as good as a SC10-III like Dave suggests. Your ride will likely not be what you are looking for. I didn't do the work, but did ride a ZX chassis with the SC10-4 in it and it wasn't near as nice as the SC10-III was in that same chassis.

Now, I have not tuned a SC10-4 so it may be possible to tune it.

oh ok , this sounds ok....i think i'm just going to try it an see how it works, but i would like to know a lil more about how to mount it up proporly???

Scotty check the tech faq forum under other suspention install and let me no what you think[Does it make sence]or ? lol

Search on dootalk.com for mounting measurements of the skid itself.
  • Axle to front
  • Front to rear
  • Axle to rear
  • Tunnel to front
  • Tunnel to rear
I like to then draw it out on poster board to use as a template.

Determine what "attitude" you want the sled to have once you are done. I like to factor in the ride height of the stock skid - both front and back.

It is very important to keep the front mount to rear mount dimension very accurate. This controls the actual skid geometry and how well it works itself.

Also the front mount to axle needs to be similar to end up with the right total track circumference.

The relationship of the mount geometry (front and rear) to the drive axle is what will affect ride and handling the most. This has to be a tradeoff between the donor sled and the recipient sled.

It may be posted above, but there is a helpful chart you can print somewhere on this site.

Hello, I couldn't find these measurements on doo talk anywhere? I would go to my ski-doo dealer to get them, but it is 45mins away...

Did you pose the question? I have seen this posted over there myself, wonder why searches didn't find it. Skidooboy might be able to help find the info.

Hey guys, I just finished installing the SC4 in the viper today, I ended up makeing drop down brakets for the back but everything went along pritty smoothly. I took it for a lil spin in a feild and it seemed to work really good, transfered 10 times better than stock, seems a lil on the soft side but i think you can just get hevyer springs for it? The real test will be today i'm prolly going to put 200 miles on it so i hope it all gose smoothly and i don't have any problems, i'll put some pics up when i get a couple tomorrow.
