help 2001 Phazer electical

my brothers 01 phazer lights and tach stopped working, does anyone know what could be wrong? we check for fuses, would like to see if there is a simple problems before we start replacing parts. maybe voltage regulator or the lighting coil

I would start testing before I started replacing parts. Could be a number of things, so eliminate them one by one by testing. Could also be the wiring harness.

I would check the conection where every wire connects to another wire. Also where a wire connects to a crimp on connector. I have found that some times those connections end up corroding over time, they heat up and burn themselfs apart. You should get yourself a multimeter to help you out.

you have a short in the wireing somewere....i know this cause i have the same problem .....i have yet to find the short tho ...
