Saw them on Benders site just wondered if anyone had them or something like them and had a picture of them.

Thanks,

rivets

The 97 V Maxs had issues with the rear trailing arm rivets coming loose and the fix was to install 1/4 " Huk rivets in place of the old ones. If the holes were elongated too much there was a plate added to the top side using some other rivet holes for a mount point . Never did see the plates cause mine accepted the 1/4 " Rivets

I added the Bender model to my 2000 Vmax after I "tweeked" the tunnel. They add alot of stiffness and are fairly easy to install, removing "loose" rivets is the toughest part. Don't even know they are there now and I had a second small incident and it held up great.

On my 97 SX that I picked up used the rivets were worn all the way through the foot rest area so I added a piece of aluminum similar in size to the threaded trailing arm attachment plate on top of the foot rest and used 1/4" stainless bolts with a pan head/torx drive to attach. I haven't ridden it since adding the plate on top but they don't seem to interfer with my feet.

You could use a hex head bolt and would have added traction. I temporarily had one in my set up but didn't care for the traction in that area so I made sure to replace it with a pan head when I had the chance.

Bender

Just get them from Bender. They are reasonably priced, well built and easy to install. I have used them several times in the past to repair kinked running boards from trailing arm hits. They work well. I've dealt with Bender a few times recently and their service has been great.
