I have a 2001 sxr 600, it has been very reliable until recently. Last year had some trouble with the motor bogging. Shop cleaned carbs twice but bogging still present. Eventually shop found a plugged main air jet. Ran fine for the remainder of the year. Later in the year headlight quit working. Over the summer checked all headlight wiring and switches, seemed like a it was a bad wire under the motor but could not find it so ran a new wire and headlight worked fine but only on highbeam. This year took sled out for a quick run and bogging reappeared. Shop cleaned carbs again but said they looked fine, did not find a fault code for TORS but bypassed and problem disappeared. Last week I had shop look at headlight issue so low beams will work. Changed headlight relay and headlight worked great. Took sled to UP and grip and thumb warmers not working and brake light not working. Sled also seemed to miss at about 7500 rpms. Very intermittent and barely noticeable but something is definitely not right. When rpms climbed above 8000 tach seemed to float around, not in keeping with actual engine rpm. it seems as if the engine is losing spark for a just a second. It seems as if there is a real electrical problem wondering if the CDI box is shot

I have a simular issue with a sxr 700. At high rpm sled will skip. yamaha tech, big moose yamaha old forge ny, said the stator and cdi on yamaha do not fail very reliable.
